Here’s a couple of slides with some interpretations. This side of his character is, of course, criticised by Lady Macbeth in the following scenes (“I do fear thy nature, it is too full o’th’milk of human kindness … what thou wouldst highly, Also – that comment from Macbeth about “chance may crown me, without a stir” seems to hint at his unwillingness to commit an evil deed and instead hope for the best. Remember that the word level analysis is important but it’s also about balancing this with those comments on how the scene reflects key themes and ideas.
